Crunchy Clean Laundry Detergent

So I've been doing a number of loads with Crunchy Clean Everyday Detergent http://www.crunchyclean.com/ and I am very pleased with its cleaning power and heavenly scents. It took a bit of tweaking since I tend to have very messy kids but I think I've figured it out. What I also like about Crunchy Clean is that it can be used for multiple cleaning applications. I also added it to vinegar to make an eco-friendly mopping solution that really cleaned!

Also, Ashley (the WAHM/owner of CC) has revamped her website to offer shorter shipping times. It used to take a while to ship Crunchy Clean but as of February 22nd wait times will be substantially shorter. I can't wait to try the gardenia scented detergent that they offer.

Sidenote: For truly awful clothing stains, I would highly recommend that you add a scoop of your favorite oxygen cleaner to Crunchy Clean in your wash. I found that this worked much better for me.

I am waiting on my order of Crunchy Clean. Crunchy Clean is another eco-friendly detergent made by a WAHM. According to their website, the detergent can be diluted for everyday cleaning. Multi-purpose cleaner? I like the sound of that! I'll let you know how it works out.

Dropps Laundry Detergent

So I have found this wonderful, eco-friendly detergent that gets my clothes clean. Here is their website: http://www.dropps.com . They have scented and unscented formulas. I've tried both and I personally prefer the unscented. I usually like to add the scent via my fabric softener. So far Dropps hasn't caused rashes for my eczema prone kids so that's a big plus! I also have to add that their customer service was great, and I love the fact that their product is pre-measured into pacs that dissolve in the washer. This means that I don't have to lug a heavy, messy jug around when I'm doing laundry. Dropps is safe for all types of fabric from silk to cotton.

Boiron Homeopathic Flu Medicine

Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lip

There is a nice selection of shades and they do last. Also, the lipstick doesn't make my lips feel dry. I was very pleased with this lipstick.

Cheer BrightClean Detergent

How I love thy clean socks and undies that one does giveth me. This detergent actually works and it's gentle on my family's clothing which is very important when you have kids with significant allergies and eczema. It's not the typical, old timey, stuff you'd expect to smell when you think of gardenia and lush peach. It's actually quite irresistable and sublime. I'm very picky with frangrances and cannot stand when a fragrance is too strong or smells cheap. In Bloom is neither. It has a nice, lingering fragrance that doesn't overwhelm the senses and with Avon's money-back guarantee you cannot go wrong.

Le Petit Francais Bread Rolls

Bath and Body Works Hand Wash

These are the best hand soaps ever, especially for little kids. The foam up into a rich, yummy smelling lather, that gets into the tiniest of crevices on little hands. The scent is not overpowering and it softens and soothes delicate baby facial skin. Adults like it too. My dad kept my tube of Weleda face cream after he tried it! Needless to say I have to go out and buy another tube for my children.

Avon's Kabuki Brush by Mark

It is only $5.00 but it is an amazing brush. The bristles are incredibly soft and apply mineral powder foundation beautifully. I also use it to apply my blush. The best part is that it's compact so you can throw it in your purse and take it with you for quick touch ups.

L'Oreal Skin Genesis

I have recently started to use the L'Oreal Skin Genesis Pore Minimizing Cleanser and I love it! My skin is very sensitive and this cleanser is non irritating. Plus, it does stand up to its claims of gentle yet thorough cleansing. I've used it on a face full of make-up and it has done its job! The scent isn't overpowering either.

Mineral Make-up

I have a love/hate relationship with mineral make-up. On the one hand it's easy to apply and looks nice. However, my skin tends to be on the dry side and the mineral powder makes my skin feel even drier. I usually avoid this by moisturizing beforehand but sometimes I'm in a hurry and I don't have time to moisturize. Anyone else have any thoughts on this???

I found the Johnson's conditioner recently and it has been working so far. I haven't had to untangle the bird's nest that forms on the back of her head.

Steamer bags for food

I have to say that I love steamer bags to cook my veggies and fish. They always come out perfect and I don't have to use any oil to cook them, just some seasoning. I usually buy the Ziplock steamer bags http://www.ziploc.com/?p=b9 because those seem to be the only ones my grocer carries. I remember Glad offering a similar product. Anyway, the steamer bags are a great time-saver and healthy way to cook your meals.

My huband recently received a mailing from ING Direct offering him $25 if he opened an Orange Savings Account. I was about to throw this piece of junk mail away but I decided to open it and read it. Well guess what? That Orange Savings account has no minimum balance fees and it has 2.75% annual percentage yield. Not bad at all, so I opened an account for myself. Hyland's Cough Syrup

So with all the bru ha ha going around about not giving young children mutli symptom meds for colds, we are left wondering how the heck we can help our kids when they're up all night coughing and crying.
My daughter recently had a very nasty cough that sent us to her pediatrician, who is a gem by the way. Dr. B suggested maybe using honey as a cough suppressant and with a good reason. A recent study (I don't remember where I read it) showed that buckwheat honey was more effective at suppressing a cough in young children than the leading medicated cough suppressant.
As I was headed to the honey aisle at my local Whole Foods, I saw the Hyland's cough syrup for kids http://www.hylands.com/products/coughsyrup4kids.php and I thought I would try it. Guess what? It actually helped my daughter's cough quiet down and she was able to sleep. Since it's made with a honey base, my daughter didn't mind taking it. However, I always end finding a product that I really like and end up wishing that I had a blog where I could tell people about it.
